Well…. It’s a long story. No, not really. The truth of the matter is that its taking a bit longer than we expected to finish the work on the issue. While all the material has been written, edited and sent for layout, it’s actually the layout which has been taking the longest to complete. We received a draft layout of the first 46 pages a few weeks back from Will and in that time its been reviewed and sent back to Will with all our edits. We also received an additional 30 pages about 2 or 3 weeks back but due to some software issues, we weren’t able to do an edit on the layout. Since then, sadly Will has been busy with some work for the BBC – sorry we can’t tell you what its on; we’ve been sworn to secrecy – this has delayed further work on the issue. But don’t worry, the issue is coming. I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed with the issue once it does come out. In fact, I’d even venture to say it’s the best Whotopia issue to date.
One exciting thing about the upcoming issue is the sheer volume of material. So far, the issue has clocked in at over 75 pages, and there’s still more material to be laid out. Yes, you read that right. 75 pages so far! I know, I know. Wow! In fact, the Whotopia Editorial Board has a little bet on as to what the the final page count will be for the issue. Some of guessed 84 pages, others 88 pages, while I’ve personally guess likely somewhere closer to 100! I definitely think the wait is going to be worth it. It’s going to be a bumper issue.
So we hope our readers will understand why things have taken a little longer on this issue and in the meantime we do apologize for the delay.
