Just an update and some details for your attention regarding Whotopia.
Issue 20 is complete bar the cover, which is currently being worked on. So baring any unforseen events, we’re hoping to have this issue online by the end of February. Unfortunately we had way too much material for this issue and sadly we had to trim a few articles to keep the page count down. The material that was held over from this issue will be used in issue 21, but this will not be the Monsters and Villains themed issue 21 as originally planned.
In order to accommodate the overflow material, Jez and I have rejigged the Whotopia publication schedule for the rest of the year. The originally planned issues 21 and 22 have now been bumped back in the schedule, and we will be adding a new issue into the schedule which will be the new issue 21.
The overflow issue 20 material will now be used in the new issue 21. This material is being laid out for a new issue which will give me about 30-40% of another issue completed. Issue 21 (Monsters & Villains) and Issue 22 (Matt Smith The Story So Far) will be pushed back and renumbered issues 22 and 23 respectively, after which we will insert a new issue 21, which will contain all of the overflow material from issue 20, plus a select number of new articles.
Now, yes, doing this will change our submission deadlines, but only marginally.
Here’s what the new schedule will look like:
Issue 20 – The Tennant Era Issue
Issue 21 – “The Overflow Issue” (this is the new issue 21)
- Submission Deadline: April 2, 2011
Issue 22 – Monsters and Villains
- New Submission Deadline: June 18, 2011
Issue 23 – Matt Smith The Story So Far
- New Submission Deadline: November 5, 2011
The new issue 21 will not have a theme other than the “overflow issue”.
So, with this in mind, we will need material on any subject for the new issue 21. If someone is interested in taking on the Daleks Advocate feature for this issue, it would be appreciated. So we need articles! I’m open to material of any nature on Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures or the K-9 series for this issue.
